Greenhouse will open soon

Students in Mr. Woodburn’s greenhouse class are working hard to have flowers and ferns ready for sale after spring break. If all goes as planned they will start selling plants on Tuesday April 14. Click "Read More" to see all pictures.

 

 

Art Class competes in No R Word Contest

Students in Mrs. Hoppers Art classes have designed a billboard to be entered in “No R word” contest. For more information about this contest please visit the official site. The billboard will be placed in the commons area throughout the month of March and April. 

Foods Class and Art

Students in Mrs. Searcys Foods class have been learning about making creative foods using artistic designs. Students were able to be creative in the lesson and design cookies putting their creative skills to the test.

Speed/Agility Class offered

The McLean County Community Education program is offering a Speed and AgilityTraining Class.  The class is offered on Thursdays at Calhoun Elementary School gym from 5 to 6:00 p.m.  The class is taught by Jeremy Troutman an ATI certified trainer.

The training includes range of movement drills, sprint training, and pylometrics to reduce 40 and 60 yard dash times, increase vertical jump, and improve overall strength and quickness.

FFA students read to Elementary students

High School FFA members supported National Reading Month by going to elementary schools across the district to read to elementary students. FFA members read to the students and encouraged them to become lifelong readers. 

Arts and Humanities class performs what they have learned about music.

Students in Ms. Goffinet’s Arts & Humanities class studied the purposes and elements of music.  They used their knowledge of the elements of music to create a musical performance.  Students then performed their songs to the class.  Students evaluated the performances of other groups and reflected on their experience.  Click “read more” to see the other student performances. 

MCHS Boys Basketball wins district title

MCHS Boys basketball team beats Muhlenberg Co in triple overtime 59-56. Congratulations to the boys’ basketball team on winning the 10th district title.
